viBe is thrilled to be a part of WNYC’s Salute The Arts Initiative for the month of September, 2009.WNYC’s STAR Initiative is a program that profiles 36 small cultural non-profit organizations in the New York Metropolitan area over a 12-month period, through on-air promotional announcements and free website support.

viBeGirlsInCharge is an innovative program that takes the viBe mission one step further by empowering viBe Alumnae to create their own arts program from top to bottom.

Through close mentorship with viBe’s Executive Director and Director of Programming, this select team of young innovators gains leadership experience and skills by inventing and implementing their own performing-arts project. viBeGirlsInCharge model their program after the successful structures of other viBe programs but the young leaders create new approaches. viBeGirlsInCharge gain skills and experience they will take with them into all areas of their lives.
